Valve has finally shipped a living room console that successfully bridges the gap between PC performance and console simplicity. While not yet a polished 'plug-and-play' consumer product, it proves that a dedicated Steam OS device can offer a viable alternative to traditional consoles by leveraging the massive legacy of PC gaming.
