Achieving 1,000 FPS requires extreme measures, including sub-zero cooling and aggressive CPU overclocking. While the hardware can reach these frame rates in esports titles, the experience reveals that ultra-high refresh rates like 1,000Hz provide significant perceived smoothness, though they remain impractical for the average user without extreme specialized cooling and high-end hardware.
Key insight: Even with an RTX 5090 and a CPU running at 6.2 GHz under -100°C liquid chiller cooling, hitting 1,000 FPS consistently requires disabling half the processor cores and pushing components to the absolute edge of stability.
